FM Ferrovia Mesolcinese (Misox railway)

Location:

The old Misox railway (BM, inaugurated in 1907) was overtaken by the Rhetian railway (RhB) in 1942. In 1972 the voyager trains were stopped, continuing only the freight transports, first to Mesocco, and from 1978 on only to Cama. The Società Esercizio Ferroviario Turistico (SEFT) started in 1995 organizing the Ferrovia Mesolcinese - museum trains (FM) between Castione and Cama. The SEFT is now the owner of the infrastructure and an independent private railway company. Castione is easily accessible with the post bus from Bellinzona or Biasca; Swiss timetable line nr. 625.05 and 940.30; Highway exit Bellinzona - Nord.

Electric motor coaches: ABe 4/4 1 and 2 (1933, ex AB 41 and 42, red – white), ABe 4/4 5 ex BA,

BDe 4/4 6 (1958, ex RhB/BM 491 , red)

Passenger coaches: B 51 and 52 (1907, ex BM/RhB), Bt 29 (1958, ex SZB) and D 11 (1889, ex RhB)

FM-Shop:

In our shop at Cama You will find the greatest choice of postcards of railways, trams, post busses and coaches (about. 300 different motives). Most requested are the postcard series, the specialized books and the railway model (HOm, Bemo) from the freight wagon Gb 71 from the Ferrovia Mesolcinese (FM).

Children younger than 16 years travel for free if accompanied by at least one adult.
